Welcome to the 2026 GMMS Band Experience! 🎸🎶🎤

The GMMS Band Experience is your chance to be the band—to learn music with others, work with teachers on creative arrangements of popular songs, and share your sound with the community!

Who Can Join:

• Musicians 10 years and older are welcome.

• Applications are due January 10, 2026.

• Accepted students will be placed in a band and notified by January 20, 2026.

• Most Important Requirement: Band members must be available to rehearse regularly. Each band’s rehearsal schedule is built around members’ availability.

Cost & Commitment:

• $50/month

• Runs January through September (9 months)

Band Levels & Opportunities

ADAGIO – First & Second Year Bands

• Rehearsals: Four 60-minute rehearsals between January 20 and May 1 (roughly one every three weeks), plus two additional rehearsals in May, June, or July for GMMS Fest, and one final rehearsal for Porchfest.

• Performances: Local open mic night in May, mini-set at GMMS Fest, and Porchfest mini-set.

• Extra: Bands are encouraged to practice on their own in addition to scheduled rehearsals.

ANDANTE – Second & Third Year Bands

• Rehearsals: Weekly or bi-weekly rehearsals at the studio (schedule built around members’ availability), with every other session led by GMMS Staff (January–September). Staff are always present or nearby.

• Performances: All ADAGIO opportunities plus 1–2 additional sets at local benefits or establishments during the year, as band availability permits.

ALLEGRO – Third & Fourth Year Bands

• Rehearsals: Weekly rehearsals at the studio (schedule built around members’ availability), with at least one GMMS Staff-led rehearsal per month (January–September). Staff are always present or nearby.

• Performances: All ANDANTE opportunities plus the chance to record a single to be released before the end of the year (additional cost).

The GMMS Band Experience is more than practice and performance—it’s a journey to grow as a musician, make lasting friendships, and experience the thrill of being in a band. The biggest commitment? Making time to rehearse! When everyone shows up, the magic happens.
