Sound Sprouts is a joyful, interactive music class for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers. Through singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and plenty of opportunities to explore, children begin building a lifelong relationship with music—and caregivers get to make music with their little ones.
There’s a reason we start young. Research in early childhood development consistently shows that regular exposure to music supports the developing brain. Singing and rhythmic activities help young children practice listening, memory, language, coordination, pattern recognition, and social interaction. Keeping a beat asks the brain to coordinate what we hear with how we move, while singing exposes children to new sounds, vocabulary, repetition, and the natural patterns of language. Musical play also gives children opportunities to practice turn-taking, following directions, expressing themselves, and building confidence.
Early exposure and exploration with music also help lay the foundation for long-term musical capability. Young children are developing the neural pathways they will use to listen, recognize patterns, keep a beat, coordinate movement, and eventually learn an instrument or sing with greater ease. Sound Sprouts isn’t about turning toddlers into musicians overnight—it’s about giving their developing brains lots of rich, joyful musical experiences to build on as they grow.
And perhaps most importantly, music is something children learn by experiencing—not just by being taught. The more opportunities a young child has to hear, move to, sing, and play music, the more familiar and meaningful music becomes.
At Sound Sprouts, there’s no expectation that your child will sit still or “perform.” We’re here to wiggle, sing, shake, clap, listen, explore, and have fun together. Caregivers participate alongside their children, making this a shared experience rather than a class you watch from the sidelines.
Come grow with us. Plant the seeds of a lifelong love of music. 🌱🎶
